Clothes for workers, clothes for students, and clothes that foster a richness of spirit
Chikuma has created clothes based on a multitude of different hopes and dreams for over a century.
We have developed as a textile trading company with four key business domains that differ in their advantages.
We will continue to contribute to society while imagining the lives of those who will wear our products.

Chikuma has developed as a trading company specialized in textiles that connects Japan with the world. Now, we have many business partners in Japan and other countries, carrying out business with the designing and manufacturing of uniforms at our core. While developing with the businesses that respond to the changes of the times, we have been working on environmental conservation activities for many years. We set up the Environment Promotion Office in 1995. Going forward with the uniform recycling project, we obtained certification under the National Permit System in 2004 as the first certified company in Japan (approved by the Minister of the Environment). We will aim higher as a company contributing to society, while developing the textile industry.
With manufacturing that makes full use of natural and synthetic fabrics at the highest level, Chikuma contributes to the development of the uniform industry. We boast the best track record in the industry. Chikuma manufactures about 3,270,000 uniforms yearly. We supply ready-to-wear uniforms via distributors all around Japan in addition to designing made-to-order uniforms, providing many workers with our uniforms.
Clothing is not just for dressing up. Being dressed correctly, based on knowledge, is very helpful for your health and safety. In addition, you can discover Japan's clothing culture anew and develop a rich internationalism through the exploration of other countries' clothing cultures. Our efforts in the recycling of clothing are essential for sustainable economic activity and environmental conservation. We make many efforts to disseminate fukuiku, or clothing education, that provides important instruction on the roles and functions of clothes.
